Honeywell

Solving the world’s most complex challenges.

Who is Honeywell?

Honeywell is a multinational technology and manufacturing company, with a focus on combining hardware, sensors, and software to help organizations improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability across their operations.

In the utilities sector, Honeywell provides metering technologies for water and gas networks. Its portfolio—expanded through the acquisition of Elster—includes gas meters, smart communication modules, and meter data management platforms used by utilities worldwide.

These solutions support automated meter reading and advanced metering infrastructure, allowing utilities to remotely collect usage data, improve billing accuracy, and monitor system performance.

Honeywell’s water and gas metering products include diaphragm and rotary gas meters, as well as smart connectivity modules that enable remote monitoring and analytics. These technologies help utilities detect leaks, manage distribution networks more effectively, and modernize infrastructure as part of broader smart utility and smart city initiatives.

How do Mountain States and Honeywell work together?

Honeywell provides gas metering and infrastructure technologies used by utilities nationwide.

Mountain States supports Honeywell systems through:

  • Gas metering hardware supply
  • Infrastructure component coordination
  • Field deployment support
  • Integration with AMI systems and utility software

These systems are commonly deployed by gas districts across western service territories.

HONEYWELL SMART METERING SOLUTIONS

Q4 Electromagnetic Meter

Size 1 ½” to 12″

The evoQ4 is a battery powered electromagnetic water meter that is suitable for a wide range of metering applications.

Using Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, two magnets provide a magnetic field within the pipe; two electrodes measure the induced voltage that is proportional to the flow of conductive water through the field in the pipe. Every 0.5 seconds the measurement is taken and the totalized volume is calculated and updated on the LCD display.

The meter is designed for 10 years of continuous operation with no battery changes necessary.

More Efficient. More Effective. Greater ROI.
